Viewing Static Routes on H3C Core Switches

You can view static routes on H3C core switches using the display ip routing-table command in the CLI, which lists all configured routes including static routes, next hops, and associated interfaces.

Using the CLI to View Static Routes
  1. Access the switch via console, SSH, or Telnet.
  2. Enter system view if needed:

    system-view

  3. Display the routing table to see all routes, including static routes:

    display ip routing-table This command shows the destination network, subnet mask, next-hop IP, outgoing interface, and route type. Static routes are usually marked with an S in the route type column.

  4. Filter for static routes only (optional) using:

    display ip routing-table | include S This helps quickly identify all manually configured static routes.

Additional Useful Commands
  • Check a specific static route:

    display ip route This shows the next hop and interface for a particular network.

  • Monitor route reachability: You can associate a static route with a Track object to monitor the next hop's availability, which is useful for high availability setups .
  • Recursive lookup options: H3C switches support recursive-lookup and host-route keywords, but they are mutually exclusive when configuring static routes .
Web Interface (Optional)

Some H3C switches, like the S1600V2 series, allow viewing static routes through the web management interface. Navigate to the Routing > IP Routing Table section to see all configured routes, including static routes, next hops, and interfaces .

Notes
  • Static routes do not adapt to topology changes, so any network changes require manual updates .
  • Ensure that the next-hop IP and outgoing interface are correctly configured to avoid routing issues.
  • For multi-VPN or ECMP configurations, verify that primary and backup links do not share the same physical interface .
